Message from the Council President

Hi, my name is Naomi Mathew, and I am proud to serve as the Panhellenic President. The Panhellenic community at UConn is built on the foundation of four core values: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Leadership. Together, we strive to create a supportive, empowering environment for over 1,000 Panhellenic women across all of UConn’s campuses. Through our efforts, we facilitate impactful academic initiatives, philanthropic events, sisterhood experiences, and leadership development opportunities.

Serving as the Panhellenic President has been an incredible honor. The Panhellenic community has provided me with countless opportunities to pursue my passions and connect with individuals who inspire me every day. I could not imagine my UConn experience without the sense of belonging and growth that this community has brought into my life. The women in our community are driven, compassionate, and eager to make a positive impact in the world.

I encourage you to explore all that the Panhellenic community has to offer. Whether it’s through academic support, philanthropy, sisterhood, or leadership, there’s something for everyone here. Interested in Joining the Panhellenic Community?

We encourage all interested students to participate in primary recruitment. Primary recruitment gives interested students the opportunity to meet the entire Panhellenic community at UConn. Primary recruitment happens at the start of the fall semester. The most opportunities to join are available during Primary Recruitment; however, students can still join through Continuous Open Bidding (COB). COB looks very different from primary recruitment. It is more informal and, unlike primary recruitment, you do not need to attend events for all sororities. You are welcome to attend events for various sororities, though not all panhellenic chapters will participate in COB.
