Alpha Omicron Pi

Alpha Omicron Pi Greek letters
The first chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi’s history began in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City. Stella George Stern Perry, Jessie Wallace Hughan, Helen St. Clair Mullan and Elizabeth Heywood Wyman were four devoted friends who were determined to ensure that their feelings of belonging and compassion would last a lifetime. Our motto “Inspire Ambition” was crafted to encompass the mission of the Fraternity into two impactful and intentional words. Alpha Omicron Pi not only provides the tools for academic and personal achievement, but inspires its members to reach and embody these objectives during their collegiate years and for decades to follow.

Message from the Chapter President

Alpha Omicron Pi is a sisterhood built on four timeless values: character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. These principles create a foundation for a community where each member's unique qualities are recognized, celebrated, and nurtured. Joining this chapter my freshman year gave me friendships and an instant feeling of home at a time where nothing else felt permanent. These bonds only continued to grow, and they have created a community of strong, ambitious women. The philanthropic efforts for the Arthritis Foundation and Huskython show how willing our members are to give back, and our academic incentives cultivate collegiate and professional excellence. This nurturing and supportive community has allowed me to become a driven and dedicated young woman, and for that I am forever grateful.
