Alpha Omicron Pi

Alpha Omicron Pi Greek letters
The first chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi’s history began in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City. Stella George Stern Perry, Jessie Wallace Hughan, Helen St. Clair Mullan and Elizabeth Heywood Wyman were four firm friends determined that their friendship should last a lifetime. Our chapter at the University of Connecticut was founded in the Fall of 2016 and has been growing ever since! Our motto “Inspire Ambition” was crafted to encompass the mission of the Fraternity into two impactful and intentional words. Alpha Omicron Pi not only provides the tools for academic and personal achievement, we inspire the courage to reach these objectives and beyond.

Message from the Chapter President

Hi everyone! My name is Kylie and I am the proud President of the Lambda Lambda chapter. Alpha Omicron Pi strives to inspire ambition in all of our members within the chapter and throughout campus through our values of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. As a chapter we hold events throughout the school year that directly benefit our national philanthropy, The Arthritis Foundation. Our annual Run for the Roses 5k is held every November on Fairfield Way bringing together members of the UCONN and Mansfield community. Our philanthropic efforts go beyond supporting our national philanthropy and include raising money for HuskyTHON as well as completing over 1,000 community service hours as a chapter. Behind the red door of our house you'll find sisters spending quality time with each other whether it be movie nights, study sessions, and more. AOII is a group of strong and unique individuals from a variety of back grounds and I am so honored lead this amazing chapter.
