The first chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi’s history began in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City. Stella George Stern Perry, Jessie Wallace Hughan, Helen St. Clair Mullan and Elizabeth Heywood Wyman were four firm friends determined that their friendship should last a lifetime. Our chapter at the University of Connecticut was founded in the Fall of 2016 and has been growing ever since! Our motto “Inspire Ambition” was crafted to encompass the mission of the Fraternity into two impactful and intentional words. Alpha Omicron Pi not only provides the tools for academic and personal achievement, we inspire the courage to reach these objectives and beyond.
