Message from the Council President
Hello! My name is Katherine Bates and I am proud to be serving as the Panhellenic President. This organization has allowed me to explore my passions, connect with different people and offices across campus, and has been a major piece of my time here at UConn. I am grateful am able to represent such an amazing group of women.
The Panhellenic community is driven by four core values: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Leadership. Throughout each academic year, we facilitate academic initiatives, philanthropy events, sisterhood experiences, and leadership development for the 1,000+ Panhellenic women across all of UConn’s campuses.
I could not imagine my UConn experience without Panhellenic. I encourage you to explore all of the opportunities that the Panhellenic community has to offer. Interested in Joining the Panhellenic Community?
We encourage all interested students to participate in primary recruitment. Primary recruitment gives interested students the opportunity to meet the entire Panhellenic community at UConn. Primary recruitment happens at the start of the fall semester. The most opportunities to join are available during Primary Recruitment; however, students can still join through Continuous Open Bidding (COB). COB looks very different from primary recruitment. It is more informal and, unlike primary recruitment, you do not need to attend events for all sororities. You are welcome to attend events for various sororities, though not all panhellenic chapters will participate in COB.
