Sigma Alpha Epsilon is one of the country’s oldest and largest fraternities, founded on March 9, 1856, at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Connecticut Beta chapter was founded at the University of Connecticut on October 9th, 1943 and has a rich history rooted in the values of brotherhood, academic excellence, and philanthropy. Since its establishment, Connecticut Beta has evolved into a vibrant and dynamic organization dedicated to enhancing the UConn community through a strong bond of brotherhood. Our fraternity stands as one of the oldest at UConn, and with this legacy comes a deep sense of gratitude for those who paved the way before us. We recognize the privilege and responsibility of carrying on cherished traditions that contribute to our continual self-improvement and the betterment of the community around us. |
