SAAM

Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) "s a time for advocates, survivors, their loved ones, and the community to come together to talk openly about sexual violence to support survivors, increase knowledge and awareness, and identify strategies and resources to prevent sexual violence. " Our staff work to plan various events, some with campus partners, that take place on campus throughout the month to raise awareness of the issue and educate students about this topic, empower students to stand up against it, and show a united University community against sexual assault.

Campus Events:

April 2nd from 11-2pm on Student Union Street -  SAAM Tabling/Showing Survivors Love

As part of our SAAM programming, we are hoping to table to share information and resources to help prevent/address sexual assault. Additionally, we are hoping to align this with 'Show Survivors Love' by having those that attend write encouraging and uplifting notes or spin to receive an affirmation.

April 21st  at 6pm - SAAM/ Educational Event – Panel

For Sexual Assault Awareness month, CFSD is working with different UConn departments to offer a panel that will include people that offer support or resources on this topic

April 29th (virtual)– Denim Day

Ask for denim photos in advance from chapters and share on social media. Create a post explaining Denim Day. Ask people to tag in their posts as they make them throughout the day.
