Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.

In December of 1975, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. was founded at Kean University in New Jersey, and is recognized as the first and largest Latin Sorority in the nation. In January of 2010, LTA became an official collegiate partner to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, becoming the first individual Latino Greek organization to commit fully to the hospital's efforts. LTA has pledged to raise awareness about childhood cancer and St. Jude in the Latin community, as well as raise funds for the hospital through a variety of events and programs. The purpose of Lambda Theta Alpha is to provide a sisterhood based on Unity, Love, and Respect. To develop strong leaders who will provide and practice political, social, and cultural activities. Promote unity through charitable and educational programs, as well as maintain a higher standard of learning and serve as a voice for all students.

Message from the Chapter President

It is an honor to serve as the President of an organization that values and prides itself on supporting women from all walks of life within higher education.

Our sisterhood uplifts and empowers Sisters and members of our community through providing networking, bonding, and community service opportunities to give back to the places we hold dear to us. Being a Sister of Lambda Theta Alpha means embodying the principles of LTA and being one who cares, loves, and supports those around her to ensure growth within herself, and in others as well.

It is because of LTA that I have flourished in countless ways; prospering in my professional, academic, personal, and social life by equipping me with skills, experiences, and a sisterhood that extends far beyond our chapter. By supporting and challenging my potential, LTA has helped me gain stronger confidence and permitted me to grow, lead, and blossom in all areas of my life while ensuring other women like me are on the same path to success.
