Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc was founded on January 9th 1914 at the campus of Howard University by three young African Americans. Honorable A. Langston Taylor, Honorable Leonard F. Morse, and Honorable Charles I. Brown, wanted to organize a Greek letter fraternity that would truly exemplify the ideals of brotherhood, scholarship, and service.
The Zeta Lambda Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc was chartered on June 25 1974 at the University of Connecticut, Storrs Campus by four men;
Dr. Fred Simon, Dr. Gerald Simon, Winfred Coachmen and Ronald Harrison. These men came together when Black and Hispanic needs were not met on campus.
