In December of 1975, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. was founded at Kean University in New Jersey, and is recognized as the first and largest Latin Sorority in the nation. In January of 2010, LTA became an official collegiate partner to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, becoming the first individual Latino Greek organization to commit fully to the hospital's efforts. LTA has pledged to raise awareness about childhood cancer and St. Jude in the Latin community, as well as raise funds for the hospital through a variety of events and programs. The purpose of Lambda Theta Alpha is to provide a sisterhood based on Unity, Love, and Respect. To develop strong leaders who will provide and practice political, social, and cultural activities. Promote unity through charitable and educational programs, as well as maintain a higher standard of learning and serve as a voice for all students.
Message from the Chapter President

Hello! My name is Alessandra Pinedo, but I go by Aly for short. I am the current Chapter President for Lambda Theta Alpha, Latin Sorority Incorporated. I joined this sisterhood because I wanted to be surrounded by an amazing group of strong, educated, and passionate women who are dedicated to constantly bettering themselves, as well as the community around them. I have been a sister for over two years now and it has honestly been an amazing journey. Before serving as Chapter President, I served as our Secretary. What I love most about Lambda Theta Alpha is that we embody our principles of Unity, Love, and Respect. If you see me around campus, say hi!! |
