Alpha Omicron Pi

Alpha Omicron Pi Greek letters
The first chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi’s history began in 1897 at Barnard College in New York City. Stella George Stern Perry, Jessie Wallace Hughan, Helen St. Clair Mullan and Elizabeth Heywood Wyman were four firm friends determined that their friendship should last a lifetime. Our chapter at the University of Connecticut was founded in the Fall of 2016 and has been growing ever since! Our motto “Inspire Ambition” was crafted to encompass the mission of the Fraternity into two impactful and intentional words. Alpha Omicron Pi not only provides the tools for academic and personal achievement, we inspire the courage to reach these objectives and beyond.

Message from the Chapter President

Alpha Omicron Pi is a sisterhood built on the timeless values of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. These principles create a foundation for a community where each member's unique qualities are recognized, celebrated, and nurtured. Being part of AOII has enriched my life in ways I could never have imagined, offering me the chance to grow both personally and professionally. The bond we share goes beyond mere friendship; it's a deep, genuine connection that has given me countless opportunities to develop and flourish. Our philanthropic efforts, academic programs, and social events are more than just activities—they're opportunities to challenge our members, step outside our comfort zones, and strive for excellence in everything we do. AOII has given me the determination to pursue my goals with confidence, knowing I have the endless support of my sisters and community to guide me.
