Sigma Theta Alpha

University of Connecticut’s Sigma Theta Alpha is one of the very few co-ed, pre-health fraternities in the United States. Since our inception in the spring of 2012, our mission has been to create an environment that supports the development of competent and self-reliant leaders in the health professions through service-based learning and leadership-oriented activities. We meet our mission by centering our fraternity around our 5 main councils: Community Education, Career Development, Community Service, Philanthropy, and Culture and Recruitment. Our councils also help us meet our four core values: Teamwork and Brotherhood, Ethical Leadership, Commitment to Service, and Knowledge and Learning. We accept all majors and people who are interested in the health field. Whether you want to be a physician, nurse, dentist, or even want to promote public health in society, you are welcome in our family as long as you share our values and commitment to the health of the community!
