Sigma Lambda Upsilon / Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Incorporated was founded on December 1, 1987 at Binghamton University. The organization not only serves as a voice for women in an academic setting, but it also provides a sincere sisterhood and unconditional support while actively promoting academic achievement, service to the community, and cultural enrichment. Although, Sigma Lambda Upsilon is a Latina-based Sorority it highly prides itself as an organization of diverse college-educated and professional women dedicated to uplifting traditionally marginalized groups. Since 1987, SLU has been an outlet for professional development and personal growth to its members and serving constituents.

Being part of SLU has truly transformed my college experience; this chapter is filled by strong, driven, and empowering Hermanas who inspire each other to grow every day. Our chapter is committed to uplifting one another, celebrating our culture, and creating meaningful impact both on our campus and in our communities. Through our dedication to academic excellence, leadership, service, and cultural awareness, we continue to honor the legacy of our Founding Hermanas.
