Go Greek!

Welcome to UConn! As you embark on your studies, it is our hope that you will take time to consider joining a fraternity or sorority. You will find that these organizations will allow you to excel as a UConn student. Whether it be through academics, friendships, community involvement, athletics, leadership experience, or just plain fun, being Greek at UConn offers the unique opportunity to succeed in all areas of life.

Achieving excellence is the primary focus of a college education, and UConn sorority women and fraternity men  have been an integral part of this mission. Founded upon the common principles and core values of scholarship, leadership, community service, character, and the formation of lifelong friendships (brotherhood/sisterhood), members of the UConn Greek community are continually challenged to uphold these timeless principles in their daily lives.

Membership in a Greek organization often is one of the most significant experiences for a college student. It is our hope that you enjoy your experiences as a new student while exploring Greek Life as an option. We hope that you begin to take advantage of what the Greek community has to offer you. Since 1883, Greek Life has been a viable and respected part of campus life, while many of our key administrators and faculty are fellow members and alumni of Greek organizations.

Please use the opportunities offered to you during the recruitment periods to expose yourself to each chapter and discover which chapter is the best fit for you. You will find that the fraternity or sorority experience will open many new doors for you, doors that you will never want to shut. Greek life will offer you the opportunity to discover and achieve your best, both in your college years and beyond.

Best of luck to each of you!
